Feile 2012
Feile na nGael 2012!

On behalf of Conor Dignam, Juvenile Games Director, and all associated with the Juvenile Games section in St. Vincents, we extend our congratulations and best wishes to our Feile hurling and camogie teams as they represent our Club in this unique event this weekend.

Our sincere thanks and best wishes go to our Feile Co-Ordinators, Jackie Burke and Denise O`Neill and their committees, for the huge effort and enthusiasm that they have brought to their work on behalf of the Club and we hope that you all enjoy the experience that will be shared with so many other Club members.

Many thanks to all the parents of our players and their families who will be looking after members of the visiting teams from Patrickswell in Limerick and Davitts of Galway - no doubt new friendships will be made over the next number of days.

Many thanks to all those who have worked so hard to prepare the pitches; the grounds, putting up the flags, and generally to help provide a very welcoming atmosphere to all the visitors to the Club this weekend.

Our very special good wishes go to our players and mentors as you look forward to putting into action all your hard work in preparing for this weekend.  We look forward particularly to seeing our players take to the field and express themselves fully through their play.  Above all, we look forward to you all really enjoying yourselves.

Davitts Club History
Davitts, founded in 1979 caters for girls from Ballinakill, Duniry, Tynagh and Woodford. Davits have many underage titles and completed a hat trick of Senior A titles between 2003 and 2005. They reached three All Ireland Club Finals but have yet to capture this coveted title. Davitts had many representatives on Galway teams, most notably Anne Broderick, Olivia Broderick and Caitriona Finneagan on the 1996 Senior All Ireland winning side. In 2012 Lorraine Farrell (Capt.), Maria Breheny, Aine Dervan, Lisa Shiel and Tara Murphy were on victorious Galway Minor panel. Davitts made it two in a row of Galway Feile titles by retaining the cup in 2012. Davitts were involved in the National Feile Finals in 1980, 1992, 1996 2000, 2002, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
They won Division B in 1992 and reached the A Final in 2000 and 2002.

We are looking for accounts of what Feile meant to past players - so would love to hear from you.
