Senior A Championship Hurling V`s Ballyboden on 23rd July at 7.30pm.
The match was played on PNU1, which was in perfect condition, on a lovely evening for hurling. The good crowd was treated to a fast, no quarters asked championship game. The first half was a tight affair with the teams even at 5 points on the 15th minute. We pulled away to lead at half time 0-11 to 0-8.
Ballyboden started the second half well with a very early goal to bring the sides back level. The remaining 26 minutes were very tight with very little space, time or scores. The final score was 0-17 to 1-14, a draw. This gives us a win and two draws in the round robin. We have matches against O`Tooles and Kilmacud left to play in the round robin Man of the match was Willie Lowry had his best game in about four years. Shay was very pleased with the performance and gives everyone a lift to kick on for the rest of the championship. Thanks to Grainne McKinney who put pictures of the match on the website.
