Hurling League 3 V`s Trinity Gaels 8/6/2010
The match was played at Trinity`s ground on a Tuesday evening. It was a windy enough night and as expected, the playing surface was more conducive for playing football rather than ground hurling. There were also a number of key players missing due to holiday commitments and injury. That said, the team should have been easily good enough to dispose of the opposition. With the exception of the goalkeeper and the full back line, the performance was poor and a lack of discipline in the last minute resulted in the referee twice moving a free forward and giving Trinity a winning point. The final score showed a defeat of 1-12 to 1-11.

Hurling League 3 V`s Thomas Davis 12/6/2010
Played in the club on a Saturday evening, the team was still missing a number of players. We started slow and gave the opposition a good head start before we got any form of a game going. Our overall performance wasn`t too bad but it was clear from early on that the referee was going to be fussy regarding physical contact. We conceded too many frees and this was shown by their free taker contributing 12 points of the 1-14 they scored. We found ourselves outscored by one point again with the final result being 1-14 to 1-13.

Hurling League 3 V Round Towers (Clond) 26/6/2010
Played in the club on a Saturday evening, top of the table, Towers, came northside expecting to extend their lead in the league. Playing with a strong wind behind them, they started well with 3 quick points from long range. However, a goal from Gary Cullinane ensured that the game was kept tight and the team went in just four points behind at half time. With both defenses on top, we were forced to take our points from long range. We quickly erased the four point margin and once we took the lead we never looked back. Towers scored just a single point in the second half and this was down to a powerful second half performance from the veteran Tom Russell at full back and his two young corner backs. The game finished with a scoreline in favour of Vincents of 1-13 to 1-9.
Players and scorers for St. Vincents were: James Daniels, Shane Perry, Mark Kirwan, Cathal Loregan, Conor Casserly, Tom Russell, Tom O Connor, Colm Davis, Niall Bishop, Shane Kiernan (0-6), Gary Cullinane (1-0), David Garland (0-2), Graham Mahon, Seamus McHugh (0-4), Sean Lillis, Brian McCarry, Kevin Lillis (0-1), Brian Quinn. |
