Minor League 1 Final V`s B/Boden at 11.00 on 22/11/2009.

Played in O`Toole Park on a very windy morning. Our lads, playing with the strong breeze got off to a very slow start. The lads were leading 4 points to 1 point after twenty minutes, which was never going to be enough. A brilliant last ten minutes saw the lads extending their lead to 12 points to 1 point.

The second half was a nail biting affair with B/Boden getting an early goal. B/B aided by the breeze kept eating into our lead, but a point from Dermot Kinahan in the 28^th minute of the second half gave us a 2 point lead. It looked as if it was good enough - but, but a goal from a 55 meter free gave B/Boden the lead for the first and only time. Heart break for the lads who gave so much during the year. The heartening thing is that they have all improved during they year. If they make the same level of improvement next year they will improve the adult hurling. The final score was 0-13 for St. Vincent`s and 2-8 for B/Boden. Thanks to the all the mentors who did a great job during the year.
