 The game of Gaelic Football has been synonymous with St. Vincents since the foundation of the Club in 1931. Over the years the Club has contributed some of the biggest names in Gaelic Football to the GAA including Kevin Heffernan, Des Foley, Des "Snitchy" Ferguson, Mark Wilson, Cyril Freaney, Jimmy Keaveney, Tony Hanahoe, Brian Mullins, Bobby Doyle, Gay O’Driscoll, Pat Gilroy, Tomás Quinn and Diarmuid Connolly. St. Vincents won the first of its twenty four senior football championships in 1949, the most recent victory at this level being in 2007. To date the Club has also won three Leinster Club championships in 1976, 1984 and 2007 and the All-Ireland Club title in 1976 and 2007. St. Vincents currently fields six adult teams from senior to minor grades and two and sometimes three juvenile teams at each under age grade. Our Under 14 team last won the All-Ireland Feile Peile na nÓg title in 2000. New players are always welcome. |
